More accurate – Digital or “Pencil” tire pressure gauge?
Generally speaking, is one better than the other as far as accuracy?
If you are just checking your car tires then either is ok. If this is a critical pressure, like in a racing situation, then a pencil gauge is crap. If this is going to sit in your glovebox, then use the pencil gauge becuase it doesn’t need batteries.
I use a dial type (needle on dial) guage that attaches to the valve with a screw on connector and has a fitting for the air line and also has a bleeder screw. I can set the pressure exactly with no loss when removing the gauge. These are the types of gauges used to set up shocks. I made my own.
