The dif between high strength steel and regular steel when it comes to ladder rack on a truck?
As the name implies, high strength steel is stronger. The difference that using high strength steel would make in manufacturing a ladder rack is either: 1. If the same metal thickness is used then the rack would be stronger and hold more weight. 2. If the rack was designed with a lighter gauge higher strength steel, then the same strength capacity could be achieved, but the rack would be lighter.
Both designs have their advantages: More strength or less weight.
